Tachyon Audio founder, Nick Payne, offers up a single with Tachyon Audio's ninth release, TAC009, the Volgen EP, consisting of the driving and subtly melodic title track with an engaging and refined remix by label co-founder, Paradaux.

The title track, Volgen, finds its groove early while systematically adding drum elements and a restrained version of the tracks leading melodic synth line. As the groove and lead line build the listener is drawn in until the track reaches a breakdown that creates a distinct and frenzied vibe using a heavy bass drum, syncopated snares, and a plethora of sound effects which crescendos back into the thumping groove and brain piercing melodic lead line. The track ends with a effects barrage and voice loop of Nick's niece, Talia Popp.

Paradaux brings his own effective and functional take to the Volgen (Paradaux Mutation) remix with clever builds and transitions, driving drums, and tweaky additional sounds that make the remix wholly unique. The continuation but alteration of the lead line jives perfectly with Paradaux's understated but impactful minimalistic yet enthralling style including droning background sounds and clicks and pops that add to the tracks strong groove.
